Finding Meaning in Life.
The weird part really is that I didn’t achieve happiness, understand love, or find meaning in life until after I deconverted from Christianity. A religion pushing all of that as essential recruitment promises should be able to deliver on at least some of it. But here we are.
- It Is Not Enough; It Is More Than Enough. The crushing dissonance eventually became too great to bear.
- The Big Secret About the Meaning of Life. Also, why Christians pretend they hold a monopoly on meaningfulness.
- Busting the First Myth About Meaning. Why the whole notion of divinely-granted meaningfulness is a crock.
- And Yet It Moves: Dismantling the Second Myth About Meaning. Toxic Christians like to pretend that nobody but themselves can possibly have meaning in life–and then they go to weird lengths to preserve their delusion.
- The Darker Side of Artificial Meaning and Purpose. Just as the Rapture and Heaven represent ways for Christians to (sorta) escape their fear of death, this idea of divinely-granted meaningfulness represents one way for them to (sorta) escape their fear of life itself.
- Finding Meaning in This Vale of Tears. No, Christians’ version of Meaningfulness-in-a-Box isn’t actually objectively superior to anybody else’s personally-figured-out sense of meaningfulness, nor vice versa.
Miracles for Sale!
It’s really a best-case scenario for Christians that their miracle claims constantly get debunked. Not kidding. Not even close.
- Common Christian Miracles, Explained and Translated. Mostly, folks encounter these in casual situations and social media. Mostly.
- The Big Miracles, Explained. I’m wrecking all kinds of Christians’ groove right now, I just know it.
- What “Jesus” Is Doing Lately Instead of Being Useful. The Christians pushing these claims haven’t thought this thing through at all.
- The Tornado Whisperer: Screw All Y’all, I’ma Get Mine. She prayed for a miracle and insists that she got one. What she really got was a chance to shine a light into one of the darkest, ugliest corners of the Christian psyche.
- Miracle Maxin‘. Why I find miracle claims to be both grossly immoral and callous.
- The Ongoing Problem With Miracles. Why Christians can’t challenge miracle claims. Instead, that task falls to us. (Then they can get mad at us for doing it. Win/win for them!)
- The Immorality of Miracles. What terrible things it’d mean for Christians if they could actually demonstrate that a single one of their miracle claims were true.
